Amaka is the Co-founder of recently established African Association of Women In Tourism and Hospitality. She is a US & Nigeria based award-winning hospitality professional with a proven history of tenacity, strong drive, passion and leadership for over 10 years.
She obtained an AMP certificate from Lagos Business School focused on Business Management & Marketing, Business Management at the European School of Economics, London UK, a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Madonna University, Okija Nigeria, an e-certification from the ESSEC Business School on Hotel Distribution Fundamentals.
She is an Alumni of The Castell Project Leadership Programme, Atlanta, 2019. She is the Founder, Past- President and Board Chairperson of The Women in Hospitality Nigeria (WIHN) an association established with a vision of being the voice of assistance for all females in the hospitality and tourism industries and also leading the paradigm shift in gender equality and governance in the hospitality and tourism industries.
She is a board member of some hospitality and tourism organizations. Her other accomplishments include: a Mentor with the Lagos Business School, The Cherie Blair Foundation for Women In Business, UK, a Partner to Interswitch Group on their Merchant Payment Services for hospitality & lifestyle organizations, a Top 100 Founding Member of Manatee Mentors/ App, Basel Switzerland, course Facilitator for the International Security Organization, Switzerland, a Member of WIH Global, a member of the African Tourism Board & a member of the NESG Thematic group for Tourism and Hospitality.
She has contributed to the reforms, reshaping, growth and socio-economic development of the hospitality & tourism industry in Nigeria. Her impact earned her several award nominations and an award for her contribution and work from the Global Leadership Institute. She established the first hospitality & tourism awards in Nigeria (The Pyne Awards) which has taken place 3 years in a row and is expanding to other sub regions in Africa.
